Progressing

Samantha is doing well.  She is still in the NICU, but her belly is better and she is taking formula; she is even taking more than half of it by mouth (as opposed to her feeding tube).  She is sweet as ever, but definitely knows what she wants and tells us when we aren't taking care of it.  She seems maybe oversensitive to stomach trouble after everything that has happened.  Hopefully she will have lots of good experiences now with her belly.  Her doctors goals for her right now are just to be able to get all her nutrition by stomach and tolerate her formula well.  So far, she is doing great.  Later today they will stop the IV nutrition and tomorrow they should be able to remove her IV all together.

 In the mean time, Junior, Carolyn, and Sarah are doing well at home.  Eric finds lots of fun things for them to do, but they even enjoy being together.  Junior and Carolyn are very sweet with their baby sister.  Junior is great at holding her and even feeding her a bottle.  Carolyn likes to love on her and help her feel better when she is crying.  They both think it's so cool when Sarah opens her eyes and looks in their direction or holds onto their fingers.  It's all so very cute.  We are excited to have Samantha come home and join us soon.
