Ether 12:6
"And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." Look here for the scripture in context.
Here is another scripture with relates faith and hope. The main point of this scripture is that we must have faith before we will receive the witness. As it has been said, "Faith proceeds the miracle." This is a blessing because our faith must be tried if we are to grow and develop into the kind of people our Heavenly Father wants us to be.
